For those of you who haven't heard, the WAMI Award Show took place at the PAC in Appleton this past Monday. The Broad Street Boogie took home the Rock Artist of the Year Award. Pretty exciting and pretty unexpected. Also, pretty cool considering we're just a bunch of dudes who like getting together to jam. Congrats to the other Fox Valley who artists who won this year. There were quite a few.

What else is new... we've been playing out some of the new originals I wrote for the latest Cool Waters CD. They've been a lot of fun. We're also going to work on a couple of new covers for the summer. Hopefully, we'll keep y'all on your toes.

Well, that's about all for now. Heading to Hawaii to take a break for a few days. Looking forward to seeing you all this summer...

Mill Creek tonight... The Broad Street Boogie is back in downtown Appleton tonight. We'd love to see you all out. We also have a sweet little WBACJ show on St Pattys Day at Anduzzis in Appleton. If it's anything like last year, it could be a bit nuts...

The Broad Street Boogie was again nominated for WAMI Rock Band of The Year (we never win these awards, but it's kind of fun to get nominated...). This year, the WAMI Award Ceremony will be held in Appleton at the PAC. You can find details, buy tickets, OR VOTE FOR GW AND THE BSB FOR THE PEOPLES' CHOICE AWARD by clicking here.

The summer schedule is up. We have a few holes to fill, but the current schedule page should give you a good idea where we'll be. Also, the Booze Cruise is set for July 24, but we don't have any details yet. Stay tuned.

Winter... it was bound to happen. Oh well. Some cool stuff coming up on this front. We have a Cool Waters Band reunion show scheduled for December 19 at Tanners in Kimberly. Tickets are still available at Tanners (you can also order by phone). We will also be releasing an 8 song EP later this week. Those will be available at Tanners as well up until the show. After the show, CDs will be avialable online as well as locations around the valley. Stay tuned.

NEW YEARS EVE - The Broad Street Boogie will be at Mill Creek on New Years Eve this year. Tickets are available at Mill Creek or at the door the night of the show. We are looking to have some special guests that night. Shoul dbe a blast!

Hello hello. Just stopping in for an update. Thanks again to all who made the summer an absolute blast. Sad to see it go, but we have some fun stuff coming up. THIS SATURDAY (9/19), The Broad Street Boogie will shake down Barley and Hops from 10-1. Remember that place? Hell Yeah!!! Come on down... it's FREE! Speaking of free, next Saturday (9/26) is Appleton's annual Octoberfest. We will be performing the Houdini Plaza Stage from 4-5:30. This is always a good time. I have a couple of other big things going on this winter that I can't talk about yet (lol), so stay tuned....

Been working on some new songs lately. I'm getting ready to start recording soon. I'll keep you all posted. Oh yeah, we just hopped on the Pi Thursday Night Train. Check it out.

What's up? Couple of quick things. No camping for the Booze Cruise this year. However, there are a ton of rooms available just down the road from the Harbor at the Village Inn. The phone number is 800.626.6391. Rooms range from $70-$85 and may be subject to a Booze Cruise discount.

To all you Appletonians, we will be downtown this Thursday for the concert series at Houdini Plaza. 5:30-8:30. If it rains, show is moved to The Bar on The Ave. Either way, we'll probably let the dogs out. If you miss Thursday, we'll be at the Harbor in Waupaca on Saturday night. Hello mayhem!

Hey everyone. Hope the summer is going well. Just took a little time off to sit around and do a whole lot of nothing. It was awesome. Ready to dive into a busy July. Tonight, we will be doing an all ages show from 6-8 at Shattuck Park in Neenah. This weekend will be an "All Tiki" weekend. Friday at The Vic Village Tiki Bar in Elkhart Lake and Saturday at The Checkered Flag Landsharks Bar in Appleton. Hope to see you all out. Summmer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (well, kind of...)


This year's Booze Cruise will be hosted by Greg and Dan Waters with special guests (TBA... ooooh, the suspense!!) It will take place on August 15; departing from The Clearwater Harbor in Waupaca at 7pm. TICKETS GO ON SALE THIS SATURDAY (6-13) AT THE BROAD STREET BOOGIE SHOW IN MEMORIAL PARK (show details below). You can talk to Greg or Dan before or after the show. Ticket price is $40 and includes, boat admission, beer, wop, finger food, and entertainment. If you cannot make the show this Saturday and still want tickets, email danwaters76@aol.com.

SUMMERBASH THIS SATURDAY AT APPLETON'S MEMORIAL PARK! The event starts at noon. The Grizbees will kick things off, followed by Unity from 2-3:30. THIS IS A FREE/ALL AGES EVENT. Beer (with ID) and food will be available. Proceeds go to benefit disabled U.S. veterans. Come down, support a good cause, and rock out with us on the hill.

Hey everyone! Just touching base on a couple of things...

1. The Prairie Home Companion Show was a blast. For those who didn't hear or see the show, you can find it at http://prairiehome.publicradio.org/programs/2009/03/28/. For those short on time, I'm at about the 53-minute mark.
2. The Broad Street Boogie has been nominated for a WAMI this year for best rock group. We're up against our friends' Verona Grove and Boxkar. You can see all the nominations here. You can also vote for your favorite band here.
3. The 2009 Booze Cruise date is set for August 15. It will be hosted again by my brother and I. We will be having some great guests this year (as always). Keep your eyes and ears peeled for more details.
4. This weekend, we will be at 2 of Wisconsin's finest venues... Jimmy Seas in Green Bay on Friday and Fratellos in Oshkosh on Saturday. Both shows start around 9 and are FREE!

A lot of cool stuff happening lately. The Waters Bros and Casey Jones had a blast on St Patty's Day. Thanks to Anduzzis and everyone who showed up. We saw a lot of crazy-ass stuff that night... oh yeah, and the music. lol. Marquette... good times as always, but I want my tamborine back!!!

Anyways, Tap Haus this Saturday in Kaukauna. I just moved to Combined Locks, so we can party at my house afterwards. Donovan just learned how to juggle, so that should keep everyone entertained.

Next week, I will be featured on A Prairie Home Companion with Mike Underwood and Marc Golde. This is one of the longest running National Public Radio Shows in history. It airs on over 700 stations throughout the US. The performance will be in front of a live sold out audience at the Appleton Performing Arts Center. You can find out more about this here. Afterwards, we'll be bringing the Boogie to Mill Creek. Hope to see you all there.

Just droppin in to say hi. Hope you're all staying warm. What a crazy winter! I need to get south for a few days/weeks/years.

Anyways, fun stuff cookin this weekend in the valley. The Broad Street Boogie will be at Mill Creek this Friday and Cranky Pat's on Saturday. Both nights will feature an opening act called Fatbook from Lawrence. Great band. Come on down, have a beer, buy a CD, do a little dance, make a little love, etc.

I've been doing some shows with Sly Joe and The Smooth Operators  lately. Great band. Check em out. We also have some Waters Bros and Casey Jones shows coming up over the next couple of months. I'll keep ya posted.

Happy Fall!! (I guess...). Lot of stuff going on since the last blog. First off, thanks to everyone for coming out to all the shows this past summer. You all made it fly by (despite all the %#@%# rain interference!) Next, The Broad Boogie welcomed in Danny Waters this past September. We're all pretty excited to have him on board (although my liver is feeling a bit overworked lately. jk). NEW ALBUM! I started recording some new songs on Oct 11. We are looking to have 10-12 of them ready for a Halloween Weekend CD Release Party. The album will be available at all live shows, the website, as well as some local joints. We'll keep ya posted.We also have a Cool Waters show in the works for December 6 (so quit buggin us already, lol). The show will be at Tanners in Kimberly, WI. They are currently on sale exclusively at Tanners. Stop in or call for mail order.

The last date of the summer for the Broad Street Boogie has just been announced. We are proud to be involved in "The Big Deal" to be held August 15-17 at the Losse Farm in Oshkosh, WI. For those interested in camping, we have a group site reserved under DOUMA at the Royal Oaks Campground (N4440 Oakland Drive), which is just a couple of miles from the Harbor. Danny and I will be hosting the 4th Annual Booze Cruise again this summer. The date is July 12th. We have some awesome guests lined up this year!! Tickets are $40 and include your admission onto the riverboat, a 3 hour cruise of the Chain O Lakes, all the wop and beer you can drink, finger foods, and 2 sets of music from the Waters Bros and guests. Tickets go on sale June 1. You can purchase them at all upcoming shows listed on the schedule page. They will also be available through Danny at all Unity shows, and if you can not make it out to any of the shows, email for more info. Please remember, there is limited space on the boat, and tickets have traditionally gone pretty quick.

I'd like to thank everybody for coming out and supporting the music lately. I have been having an absolute blast with The Broad Street Boogie and The Waters Bros and Casey Jones... mainly because of all of you! Special thanks to all who came out to the first couple of outdoor BSB events. Both were pretty sweet... hopefully a sign of the summer to come.

What's up everyone? All's well here. Good times last weekend. First time in New London for The Broad Street Boogie. Great turnout. Thanks to Lindsay and the rest of the staff for the hospitality. It was good to see Mark Little and some of the Waupaca crew out. Green Bay - you guys rock! Jimmy Seas was a blast as always. Thanks to the Commonplace boys and The Bar Tab Band for stopping out. Looking forward to a weekend of skiing in the UP, and then back at it. In the meantime, good news... The Broad Street Boogie has been nominated as Wisconsin's best new band by the Wisconsin Area Music Industry. You can find all of the nominations here(scroll down on the page a bit).

Where else but Wisconsin can you get the absolute beauty of freshly drifted snow combined with that famous brisk winter breeze and a touch of chill to let you know you're still alive.... could you believe some people actually call me a pessimist?!?!?!

3 weeks off with no music... it's been a while since I've experienced that. I'm pretty excited right now. I get a chance to catch up on quite a few things, including some songwriting.

2008... wow. Sounds really futuristic. We have a lot of cool shows coming up to help bring in the new year including a few first-time venues. Jimmy Seas got us off to a great start last Saturday. Thanks to everyone who came out. We had a great time there as always.

A few weeks ago, Cool Waters got together to record a song which will be featured on an upcoming album to benefit our good friend, Mike Boyle, who was recently diagnosed with MS. We're very honored to be involved with this project, and we're wishing the best for Mike. The five of us had a blast in the studio. It was really great to hang out with everyone. This CD will be available on February 22nd at Waverly Beach at a benefit concert. I'll try to get some details up soon.

No music this weekend. Looking forward to a trip to Lambeau Field on Saturday for a hopeful Packer victory. Go Pack. See you all soon. Happy New Year!

DAMN IT'S COLD!!!! It's funny how we seem to play off Wisconsin winters as no big deal until they creep right up on us. Anyways.... alot of cool stuff going on lately. I had the pleasure of sitting in with my brother and Unity in Libertyville, IL on Thanksgiving night. What a great time that was. Those guys wail!! Anytime boys, anytime. The Broad Street Boogie has been a blast as of late. We have been having a lot of fun at the last few shows. A lot of new tunes, and a lot of new jams. Our next show is downtown Appleton at Mill Creek on December 15. Levi Douma (remember that guy?!?!?) will be opening up the show around 9:30. Looking forward to seeing you out. All of the side projects have been a blast as well (Boog Powell, The Waters Bros and Casey Jones, and The Probes). You can find out more about all of these projects throughout this site. FINALLY, I am running a little holiday special on my latest CD, Play On. All CDs will be just 5 bucks through the end of the year (live shows only). Looking forward to 2008...

Well, the booze cruise was a blast once again! Already looking forward to next year. That week of non-stop downpour and sub 60s temperatures finally gave way to the wrath of the Chief Waupaca Sternwheeler. Thanks to all who attended. Thanks to both Cranky Pats and the Clearwater Harbor for the hospitality. Shane Hardwicke played guitar with us all weekend, and it looks like he may stick around for a while. This Thursday, we will be at Barley and Hops in Oshkosh. From there we will be taking a couple of weeks off to rehearse some more material. Check the schedule for other projects going on this month. Hey everyone. Thanks for stopping by and checking out the new site. The new album is coming along quite nicely and is scheduled for a June 22nd release. Mill Creek will be hosting the release party which will feature an opening set by Mark Little and 2 sets from Greg Waters and the Broad Street Boogie. Speaking of Broad Strreet Boogie, I'd like to introduce you to the fellas. First off is Sly Joe, an incredible musician from Neenah, WI. This guys knows how to play every instrument known to man and has played in every band ever conceived. Of course, he is also sly.

Mike Underwood is the funky drummer from Oshkosh. You can see him around the valley performing with the Jazz Orgy and a few other projects. Wood sleeps in an oversized conga drum - complete with a custom fruit bar and numerous flip down flat panel monitors.

Mike Cool is a name that probably sounds familiar to Cool Waters Fans. Mike is recently coming off a 3 year sabbatical from music in which he joined the professional video game circuit. Interesting fact: Mike once ate a whole stick of butter.
